It’s the middle nearly the end of a busy week. I am so ready for the weekend. I don’t have a long post for you – there has been a little crochet activity this week, but I haven’t photographed it yet.
But I did want to share something with you. As I’m sure you’ve guessed, I quite like buttons. And it turns out that there are other people as dotty about them as I am! Have you met the girls at Buttons and Paint yet? They have only been blogging for 6 months but they sure don’t seem like newbie bloggers. (In fact, they seem to have a much better grasp of the blogging world than I do!)
Anyway, a few days ago they posted the most amazing pictures! Pop over and have a close up look at the goodies they found.
I especially love the embroidery hoop clock – I actually have a few hoops (plus loads of buttons!) so it wouldn’t be too far fetched to imagine that I might make this one day. Perhaps in the summer holiday…
great pics, well sourced 🙂 I used to make frames with buttons, they always sold very well at the markets !
They are something else to add to my to do list! Very cute 🙂 How did you stick the buttons to the frame? A glue gun seems like a good option, but do you get splodges of glue through the holes?
I didn’t use a glue gun, I used ordinary cold glue. And, yes it does sometimes pop up through the holes but it dries transparent so that’s okay. When completely dry, give a couple of coats of modge podge. And then, again when dry, spray with clear lacquer for a lovely shine. I have photos somewhere…..
Great tips – thanks! And I’d love to see some photos if you can find them 🙂
Will facebook to you, they’re buried in the hard drive somewhere 🙂 I did some mirrors, too. Lots of fun.
Ooo, how exciting! Thank you 🙂
wow amazing ideas, I’ve seen the fruitbowl idea before, but not the others, gotta have a huge stash of buttons hey! xxx
Fortunately I do! Time, on the other hand, is harder to come by…
isn’t it just! xxx
Wow! Thanks so much for the mention and your lovely comments about our post! Lots of people have also commented on the clock – we both LOVE the sewing machine, but don’t know if we have the nerve!! xx
You’re welcome for the mention 🙂 I’m not sure I’d have the nerve to cover a sewing machine either – although I’m happy to see other people do it!
People do do some amazing things with buttons! Thanks for sharing.
They really do!
OH my gosh I love buttons too Laura. I especially loved your button tassel. Thanks for the inspiration. Hugs, Tamara
I was admiring my tassel again this evening (it’s hanging on my sewing machine at the moment!) I do so love buttons 🙂
